History: Zar played in his first band, the South Bay garage band Lines from 1975 until 1984, joining the 18 and 20 plus year-old other musicians when he was just 12 years old. They played their first show at the Long Beach Naval Station Officers club. Countless “Pedro parties”, some Hollywood Strip shows and a gig opening up for the new hot band Poison at the Troubadour led nowhere except a generally great time and many hours of jamming. In 1986 he joined his brother Chet Zar's punk rock group Skinhorse, and for 2 years they played the Southern Ca. club scene with groups like The Mentors, L7, Leaving Trains, and Bad Brains.
